IRC Networks and Servers
mIRC is an IRC client that can be used to chat with other people on IRC
networks around the world. To use mIRC, you need to connect to an IRC network.
An IRC network is made up one or more IRC servers that are all connected to
each other. By connecting to any of the servers on a particular network, you
will see the same channels and people.
IRC networks are created, owned, and run by thousands of independent
individuals and organizations around the world and there are many hundreds,
if not thousands, of such networks.
mIRC comes with a default list of IRC networks and servers. If you are
using an old list of servers, you can update your servers by downloading
the latest servers.ini file and saving it to the
folder where you installed mIRC.
